Established in 1989, Phuket Country Club is the first championship-standard golf course on the island. Set on a reclaimed tin mine, this 18-hole course is located just 30 minutes from Phuket town and 25 minutes from Patong Beach. It winds through a valley, hills, and limestone cliffs, offering a varied layout with six holes each in undulating terrain, flat landscapes, and forested areas. The course features notable challenges, including the famous par-5 10th hole, where golfers face a dramatic U-shaped fairway around a lake, and the island green par-3 17th hole. Phuket Country Club has hosted prestigious tournaments like the Ladies Kosaido Thailand Open and Toyota Senior Championship. Although the clubhouse could use some updates, the course remains one of the most scenic and challenging on the island, combining Thai charm with a memorable golfing experience.
